The first long trip we took together, it was exiting, exsauhsting, emotional, physical and unbelivably beautiful.
We rode to State Collage to visit Ned' grandfather and uncle, we meat a whole bunch of amazing people or the road, Ned got to show me a whole bunch of childhood memories and I got ot meet some relatives that I havn't meat in ages. Then we took off, taking the very long way home, through all the small roads, farmhouses and forsets, The air was clear and everything was beautiful. It was only 3 days but it felt like a month long trip.
I still feel the influence of the trip, in the way I think and fanction 2 weeks later.
At 2:00 AM after movie night we decided to go for a ride, we took the sleeping bags and tent, but never got to use them. It was very clod on the mountains, and no matter how many layers we put on we were freezing. We saw the sunrise over a beautiful lakke and listened to the forest come to life - first, birds and theninsects and animals waking up. We rode around, more and more tired and more and more relaxed, finding our way back home at about noon.
Our first tandem trip. Aya behind, legs rapped around me, and Case on his bike beside us. Case has been talking
about getting a bike since we met. This year he said Fuck It and got one. It's so different, riding with another
bike/biker, more to pay attention to. We all had an amazing time. And nothing beats walking down the boardwalk
with great friends. Especially on the first AMAZING day of the year!
We just got a new bike! She came out of the dealership all shiny and new, and doesn't even have a name yet. We took her out for the first time tonight. It was cold, but beautiful. Being on the Williamsburg bridge and then, in the city, looking at the people and the building and the beautiful river. I felt like I was cooped up in a cage all winter and now I'm a tourist in a new place.
I was just talking to a friend on MSN telling him about the fact that we have a fucking Harley Davidson and he said "What?! like those aging rockers in leather jackets?!" well, I have to say, I can think of quite a few worse ways to get old...
In July, I took a trip to Virginia, for my cousin's wedding.
It was an amazing ride.
I've seen Coney Island in movies and heard about it from songs, the day we took a ride over there, I was really excited, it was my first motorcycle long ride and I was really not used to hanging on the back for more then a few minutes.
It was so worth it! the way there was amazing, I got to cross all of Brooklyn on the way, and not only I got to see that this is one of the only New York spots that looks as beautiful as it does on the big screen, I also got to see the most amazing sunset of my life.
People in New York kept telling me about their plans to go see the leafs change color in autumn, I gathered that it was a big thing, but I had totally no idea how amazing that would be, it caught me so off guard, I barely took any pictures. We went through the ocean parkway that was really beautiful and crossed a bridge to get to Robert Moses state park on Fire Island - there were wild geese in flocks flying in the sky or stopping for a rest by the side of the road and we passed across 2 surprised looking deer. On the way back, we stopped at some diner to eat and rest and I was looking across Ned's shoulder, looking at an American flag and an old neon Motel sign, in the light of the sunset, it looks like an amazing Edward Hopper painting.
I miss the bike ride already, I can't wait till spring
