The Discworld - Terry Pratchett

We love this series, in the past few months we were listening to all of the books in the series (over 30) in order of publications. Terry Pratchett is one of the most human and funny writers I know. I especially like "going Postal" and "Small gods"

The Farseer series - Robin Hobb

A series of 9 books in 3 different trilogies, we listened to all of them in intervals, the story start slow and picks up slow until you find yourself really involved in the characters and storyline. We specially liked the middle trilogy "liveship traders'.

The hitchhiker Guild to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams

One of my favorite authors and people. His writing is smart, amusing and very thought provoking. I really enjoined listening to those in Audio book form, since they are read by Douglas Adams and this is the original incarnation of the first 2 books

His Dark Materials - Philip Pullman

An amazing story that gets exciting from about page one (or first minute when it's an audio book) it's a children books, but it deals with so many interesting and important topics like death, religion, growing up, sex, physics and a bunch of other things.

Bartimaeus Trilogy - Jonathan Stroud

We've listened to this book twice. I wanted to see the characters as either good or evil, but as in most of the other books in this list, there were so many shades of gray, that a clear good or evil could not exist. It is a fantastic ride, and a wonderful journey.
